  • Q: Is there a fee/cost for this training?

    A: No, this training is free for all users.

  • Q: How long does this training take to complete?

    A: The training will take no less than 4 hours to complete, but some users may take longer than 4 hours to complete the training.

  • Q: How do I gain access to the training?

    A: Each user must create an account on the Toolkit website (www.coparenting.fsu.edu). Users must have an email address to create an account. Users will be prompted to enter their email address as their username and create a password. Once an account is created, users will be able to access the training dashboard and begin Module 1.

  • Q: What if I forget my password?

    A: Click here. You will be prompted to enter your email address and you will be sent an email with a link that will allow you to reset your password.

  • Q: Will this training meet my requirements from the courts?

    A: This training meets the requirements for parenting courses set forth by the Department of Children and Families, but the judge in your case will decide if it meets the requirements in your case.

  • Q: What system or device must I use to access this training?

    A: You can access the training on most smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers. This training requires the use of an internet browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari. Internet Explorer does not have the capability to load and display all of our materials in good quality and we recommend using an updated internet browser. In addition, many of our added resources and pop-ups may require the use of Adobe Acrobat Reader Software.

  • Q: Why is there a timer on the lessons?

    A: In order to meet the requirements for the Florida Department of Children and Families, the curriculum should take approximately 4 hours to complete. The 4 hours are distributed among the lessons in proportion to the amount of information provided in each lesson. You must spend at least the amount of time listed on the timer for any given lesson in order to move forward and adequately complete the course.

  • Q: Can I spend more time on lessons than given on the timer?

    A: Yes, the timer on the lessons is only the MINIMUM amount of time you must spend on a lesson. Feel free to take longer and explore some of the optional pages or resources that are available in some of our lessons.

  • Q: There are activities in some of the lessons, do I have to complete them?

    A: Yes, the activities are developed to help parents to apply the skills needed for co-parenting and to build on the strengths that we all have. The activities must be completed in order to move forward in a lesson.

  • Q: Do I have to complete this training in one sitting?

    A: No, you may begin, close, and save the training as many times as you like. You must remember your username (email address) and password to re-enter the training. If necessary, you may request to reset your password through the link provided on the login page.

  • Q: Will I be tested on the content in the training?

    A: Yes. In compliance with the Department of Children and Families, you will be tested at the end of module 3. In order to pass the course and earn a certificate, you will need to answer 75% of the questions correctly.

  • Q: How many questions do I need to get correct on the quiz?

    A: The quiz has a total of 20 questions and each user must answer at least 15 questions correctly.

  • Q: What happens if I do not pass the quiz at the end of the training?

    A: You will be able to review your responses and you will be given information on where to find the correct answers throughout the training. It is suggested that you review the content again and then you may retake the quiz.

  • Q: How many times can I retake the end of course quiz?

    A: There is no limit on the amount of attempts a user is allowed for the quiz. You are encouraged to review the content thoroughly before attempting the quiz.

  • Q: Is there a time limit for the quiz?

    A: No, users will have unlimited time to take the quiz.

  • Q: Is there a certificate for completing the training and how will I get it?

    A: At the beginning of the training, you will be prompted to enter your full name. Once you complete the training and the quiz you will be redirected to the page to print your certificate. The certificate will be printed with the name you entered when you created your account.

  • Q: I lost my certificate. How can I get a replacement?

    A: As long as you have completed the training, you can login to your account and your certificate can be printed again.

  • Q: How will I know if the certificate will be accepted in my circuit?

    A: Be sure to ask the judge, the court administrator, or your lawyer if this training will satisfy the court’s parenting course requirement.

  • Q: I am a parent and not a resident of Florida; will this training meet the requirements of my state for a parent education class?

    A: This training is only approved for the Florida Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course requirements. We cannot guarantee that this course will meet the requirements of any other particular state. We recommend that you check with your judge, lawyer, or certification agency to determine if this training will be adequate and appropriate before completing the material.

  • Q: What happens if I am unable to finish the course in one sitting?

    A: You may take the course at your convenience and you may move through the course material at your own pace, within the time restrictions. Once you have read through a lesson, you may continue browsing through rest of the material. You may log out and back in to the training, as you need. Keep in mind that when you log out, the timer will be stopped and you will need to spend the required amount of time on each lesson in order to complete the training. There is no limit on the number of times you may login or logout for the training.

  • Q: Can I skip between lessons in any order?

    A: No, you must complete the lessons in the order presented on the module dashboards. In order to move forward to a lesson you must complete the lesson before it and so on. Once you have completed a lesson you may then go back to the material you have already completed in any order.

  • Q: How do I find additional resources to help me with parenting questions?

    A: At the end of the training, there will be a resource library available to you. It will be split up into categories based on user and need.   • Q: Do I have to answer the surveys attached to the training?

    A: No. These are voluntary and anonymous. FSU researchers will use them to add to the knowledge base about shared parenting. When prompted with the surveys, you will be directed to a consent form and at that time, you may decline to participate in the surveys. Your participation or decline of participation will not affect your ability to complete the training or receive the certificate of completion.

  • Q: Will I be able to review the materials once I complete the training?

    A: The course material will be available to you after you complete the training. To access the information, you must login to your account. You will have access to all the materials and you will not be timed. The resources may be useful after you’ve completed the training and will be available to you.

  • Q: The timer has disappeared. I have completed all the requirements for the lesson, but the site will not allow me to advance. What should I do?

    A:

    1. Log out of the training
    2. Click on History- (Chrome/Firefox) under the icon with three bars, (Explorer) under the star icon
    3. Clear Browser History from “the beginning of time” or “everything” including cookies, caches, and history.
    4. Close down the browser and reopen.
    5. Log back into the training and attempt to move forward in the training.
